Cardiff BookTalk on YouTube

We’re currently hard at work putting together the programme for next semester. If there’s anything you’d like us to cover please get in touch and let us know, or just leave a comment below.

In the meantime, you can watch and rewatch and generally binge on all of our 2020-21 talks via the Cardiff University School of English, Communication and Philosophy Department’s YouTube channel, where you’ll find happy hours of discussion on Shirley Jackson‘s We Have Always Lived in The Castle, Jane Austen‘s Emma, Octavia E. Butler‘s Kindred, Ann Quin‘s Passages, Hilary Mantel‘s The Mirror and the Light, and Virginia Woolf‘s To the Lighthouse.

We hosted a series of author talks this year – Richard Gwyn on his book The Blue Tent, Susan M. Gaines on Accidentals, and Tyler Keevil with Your Still Beating Heart – and our encounters with these three very different novelists are there as well.

To get you started, here’s our most recent online event – Jess Cotton (Cardiff University), Jane Goldman (Glasgow University) and Elizabeth Outka (University of Richmond) guide us through Virginia Woolf’s classic novel, To the Lighthouse.
