Open Book’s Graham Greene Special

Jon Wise, who will be joining us to discuss The Power and the Glory in a few weeks, appears alongside Mariella Fostrup and guests including Peter James and Louise Doughty for a special Graham Greene-themed episode of Radio 4’s Open Book.

Find out about what makes Brighton the ideal town for a criminal, how the experience of travel changed Greene’s fiction and why his work lends itself so well to film-makers.

Jon’s contribution covers how Greene’s religious beliefs impacted his early books, including The Power and the Glory and The End of the Affair and identifies him as a kind of ‘adrenalin junkie’ seeking out danger in foreign places.
